Six Sigma for Process Owners and Supervisors

Six Sigma for Process Owners and Supervisors

Too often in Six Sigma deployments Black Belts, Champions and Executives receive training in selecting and managing projects, but those supervisors and managers whose processes will be improved (process owners) receive little or no training in the changes about to happen in their worlds.

This workshop is designed to help managers in a Six Sigma Environment understand and better support the effort.  We’ll discuss Six Sigma and the DMAIC model, good metrics & measurements, and familiarization with some of the basic tools for tapping into the voice of important processes as a basis for sound action. We’ll cover examples from both manufacturing and service processes.

Basic statistical concepts will be demonstrated in real-world, hands-on exercises that allow for quick grasp and deep understanding. We’ll also cover the important handover from the Six Sigma team and the role of the process owner in the control phase: the use of process behavior charts, basics of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability concepts, the Taguchi Loss function and its ramifications, the dangers of tampering with stable processes.
