Six Sigma Executive Session

This course is intended to provide executives with the information and preparation they will need to lead the Six Sigma implementation and to set the criteria for success in their organizations.

A note on the importance of the role of the executive in Six Sigma. Six Sigma is a methodology for breakthrough levels of improvement in strategic processes. It involves projects that typically run from four to six months and involve teams of process experts. For this reason, it commands a long-term commitment from all employees, including all levels of management. The number one reason that Six Sigma fails, or falls short of expectations is a lack of engagement and commitment from senior leaders, and a primary driver for that lack of commitment is a lack of understanding of the approach and what is involved. Good Six Sigma executives understand systems thinking and variation, and are adept in leading organizational change. They set and weight the criteria for process selection, to provide decision support to the Project Champions and Black Belts.
